Learn the basics of understanding the mechanics and beauty of letterforms and the basics of compositional hand-lettering.
In this workshop, lead by mural and hand lettering artist, Hayley Barry of Provo, Utah, participants will be taught the basic structure of letterforms and will learn how to design and draw unique, well-crafted letters completely by hand.
Hayley will talk about weight, style, balance and all the other design elements of hand-lettering as well as flourishing, and other decorative design elements. Lastly, we will cover the basics of how to form letters into words, and use those words to build beautiful, functional compositions.
The workshop will include live coaching and one-on-one help for each student. The class includes a “Basics of Hand-Lettering” workbook, paper, pencils and pens for all participants to keep.
